Grass and Driftwood

Enjoy the simple pleasures...

From the youngest scientist and explorer, to the newly weds, the adventurers, golfers, young and old salts and all those young at heart, Ingonish and the surrounding area offers a multitude of activities and amenities.

Stroll along the beach below the Driftwood’s property, take an invigorating dip in the Atlantic ocean, stargaze or enjoy the glow of a campfire.

You may be lucky enough to glance a minke or pilot whale right from your balcony, but if not, there is plenty of opportunity to go out on a boat in Ingonish and surrounding areas to get a closer look.

The Highlands Links Golf Course, just 8 km away from the Driftwood Lodge, boasts some spectacular scenery and is rated as the top public golf course in Canada.

Sea kayaking in the area is exceptional.  If you do not plan to bring your own kayak, there are several places in Northern Cape Breton to enjoy a kayaking excursion or rental.

A short drive will bring you right into the park and all the wonders that it has to offer.  Hiking, wildlife, fresh and salt water beaches, interpretive programs and exhibits - nature at her finest.
